Limitations of mild steel

  • Mild steel corrodes fast both from inside and outside
  • Mostly fabricated from recycled steel hence, NO quality control
  • Welding joint will be highly pro to corrosion attack
  • Frequent maintenance required
  • On site painting will be less effective
  • In STP / ETP usually every alternate year painting is required and partial replacement start typically after 5 years

Limitations of S.S Handrail

  • Welding is a must as joinery hence to corrode
  • Mostly recycled steel
  • Corrosion resistance according to grade, for STP SS 316 is mostly recommended
  • Skilled welder is necessary
  • Load calculation depend on thickness so as the price
